Artist Statement

Using mixed media techniques, I can capture various aspects of my practice, from drawing to sewing, to represent the surrounding landscape and memories. Each mark holds a moment of inspiration or importance. Through repetition, I create spaces for reflection and meditation on where I have been and where I am now.

I want a feel of escape that comes from taking the time to be one with nature and to really appreciate the beauty around all of us. Whether it's the inscriptions on the ground, the patterns we find in the mountains, or the textures that pop up in the rock formation, these moments capture me, and I want to bring that to the viewer.

We get so caught up in what's happening around us that we don't take the time to look at the small endeavors right before our eyes. Once I opened my eyes and saw the tranquility and peacefulness that's happening in these small moments, I found peace and strength within myself in this big world.
